Malcolm Pasley

Malcolm Pasley (1926–2004), born in Rajkot, India, was a British scholar of German literature. He studied at Oxford and later taught German there as a Fellow and Tutor at Magdalen College. Pasley co-founded the journal »Oxford German Studies« and published extensively on Franz Kafka. He also edited, among other works, »Germany: A Companion to German Studies« (2nd revised edition, 1981) and »Nietzsche: Imagery and Thought« (1978). He was a member of the German Academy for Language and Literature and a Fellow of the British Academy. In 1986, the Justus Liebig University Giessen awarded him an honorary doctorate.
