Luzius Keller

Luzius Keller (born 1938 in Zurich) studied Romance languages and literature and comparative literature in Zurich, Geneva, and Florence. After working as an assistant to Peter Szondi at the Free University of Berlin, he taught modern French literature at the University of Zurich from 1970 to 2003, with periods of study in the United States and a visiting professorship at the University of Paris VIII. Keller published extensively on French literature, particularly on Marcel Proust. His major editorial achievements include the 14-volume Frankfurt edition of Proust’s works (1988–2007) and the Marcel Proust Encyclopedia (2009). He also worked on the poetry of multilingual Switzerland and edited anthologies and translations of Swiss poetry.
