Lucy Foley was born in Sussex, England, in 1986. She studied English literature at Durham University and earned a master’s degree in modern literature from the University of London. She then worked as an editor at Hodder & Stoughton before pursuing writing full time. Her works include the novel Die Stunde der Liebenden and the thrillers Neuschnee, Sommernacht and Abendrot, which achieved international success. Travel in Ireland, the country her family came from, inspired Sommernacht.
