Lu Wenfu

Lu Wenfu (1928–2005) was a Chinese writer. He was born in Taixing County, Jiangsu Province, and moved to Suzhou in 1945, where he spent most of his life and died. He became particularly known for the short story “At the End of the Small Lane,” which established his literary reputation in the 1950s. After 1976, he received prizes three times in the national competition for the best short stories of the year. Lu Wenfu served as vice-chairman of the Chinese Writers Association and as honorary president of Suzhou’s Association of Cultural Workers.
