Lilian Peter

Lilian Peter is a writer, translator, and piano teacher. As a young student, she studied piano alongside school before studying philosophy, musicology, and Ancient Greek, among other subjects, in Vienna and Heidelberg. She completed a further course of study at the German Literature Institute Leipzig. In 2017, she received the Edit Essay Prize; she has also held, among others, fellowships at Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto and the Künstlerhaus Edenkoben. She received Berlin Senate work grants in 2020 and 2021, a year-long work fellowship from the Stiftung Preußische Seehandlung in 2023/24, and the Berlin Senate’s major work grant in 2026. Her essay collection »Mutter geht aus« was published by diaphanes in 2022.
