Leonhard Kossuth

Leonhard Kossuth was born in Kyiv in 1923. He taught at the Literary Institute in Leipzig and worked for thirty years as chief editor for Soviet literature in Berlin. He also worked as an editor and translator, editing or translating works by Vladimir Mayakovsky, Bulat Okudzhava and Sergei Yesenin, among others. Kossuth was also active as a literary critic and writer of nonfiction.
