Leanne Shapton

Leanne Shapton, born in Toronto in 1973, is an artist, illustrator, and author. Her work has included serving as an editor and art director at the New York Review of Books and co-founding J&L Books, a publisher specializing in photography, art, and literature. Her book »Swimming Studies«, published in 2012, received the National Book Critics Circle Award. Other works include »Women in Clothes« (2015), co-edited with Sheila Heti and Heidi Julavits, »Guestbook: Ghost Stories« (2020), and »Through Manhattan« (2017) and »A Woman and a Man« (2023), both written with Niklas Maak.
