Laura Dockrill

Laura Dockrill grew up in Brixton and worked as an author, illustrator and performance poet. Before writing her children’s series featuring Darcy Burdock, she had already written books for adults. She turned to writing for younger readers after an event at which fifty children stormed the stage—a response she found so inspiring that she decided to write and illustrate a children’s book.
