Larissa Reissner (1895–1926) was a reporter, writer, and revolutionary. She took part in the Russian Civil War as a commissar of the Volga Fleet and wrote vivid reportage about the conflict. She also reported from Afghanistan, combining the style of classical travel writing with political analysis. In autumn 1923, she spent time in the Weimar Republic and wrote about Germany in the early 1920s.
