Lalla Romano

Lalla Romano (1906–2001) was an Italian writer. She studied literature in Turin and painting with Felice Casorati. From 1941 onward, she published poetry, short stories, and novels. She received the Premio Strega in 1969, the Premio Grinzane Cavour in 1987, and the Premio internazionale Latina for her body of work in 1994. She died in Milan in 2001.
