Klaus Maria Dechant is a German author, journalist, narrator, and publisher. He completed his journalistic traineeship in the late 1980s at the Schwetzinger Zeitung and the Mannheimer Morgen. He subsequently worked as an editor in Goslar and, until 2002, as a reporter and presenter for Süddeutscher Rundfunk, later SWR. He then worked as a journalism coach and as a public relations and marketing consultant. Dechant wrote, among other works, the crime novels Mordslust, Mordseier, and Fahr nicht fort, stirb am Ort, as well as the project Anleger 511. From 2023 onward, he also published under the open pseudonym Til Petersen.
