Ki-Hyang Lee

Ki-Hyang Lee (born 1967 in Seoul) studied German studies, education and Japanese studies in Seoul, Würzburg and Munich, earning a doctorate in 2001. She worked as a translator, editor and publisher and taught Korean as a language lecturer at the Technical University of Munich and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. In 2011, she founded Märchenwaldverlag. Her German translations include Han Kang’s *The Vegetarian* and Cho Nam-joo’s *Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982*. In 2024, she received the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in the translation category for her translation of Bora Chung’s story collection *Cursed Bunny*.
