Katharina Grossmann-Hensel

Katharina Grossmann-Hensel was born in Mülheim an der Ruhr in 1973. She studied German and English at the University of Hamburg and children’s book illustration at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. As an author and illustrator, she has created more than 15 children’s books, which have been translated into numerous languages and in some cases adapted for the stage. She lived in Paris for three years, where she published her first picture book. Her work has received, among other honors, the Award of Excellence at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and the Global Illustration Excellence Award at the Frankfurt Book Fair. She has also drawn cartoons for the magazine Brigitte.
