Kaatje Vermeire

Kaatje Vermeire (born 1981 in Ghent) is a Flemish graphic artist and illustrator. She studied graphic design and advertising at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in free illustration and painting. She has illustrated numerous picture books, including her own work „In de tuin van Monet“, created in connection with an exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Den Haag. Her books have been translated into many languages and received awards. „Mare en de dingen“ („Maia and what matters“) was included in the 2013 list „The 50 Best Children’s Books“.
