Justin Steinfeld

Justin Steinfeld (1886–1970), born in Kiel, was a journalist, editor of a weekly newspaper, and co-founder of a theater collective. After fleeing Germany in 1933, he wrote for various German exile publications in Prague and opposed the Nazi regime. In 1939, he fled to England. His novel *Ein Mann liest Zeitung* was first published posthumously in 1984 and is regarded as an important work of German-language exile literature.
