Jussi Adler-Olsen was born in Copenhagen in 1950. The Danish author studied medicine, sociology, political history and film. Before beginning his writing career in 1995, he worked, among other roles, as an editor for magazines and comics, a coordinator of the Danish peace movement and head of the Bonnier weekly TV Guiden. He is best known for the thriller series featuring Carl Mørck and for the novels The Alphabet House, The Washington Decree and Takeover. His books have been translated into more than 40 languages and adapted for television. In 2011, he received Denmark’s Golden Laurel award.
