Jussi Adler-Olsen

Jussi Adler-Olsen, born on 2 August 1950 in Copenhagen, is a Danish writer. He studied medicine, sociology, political history and film. Before becoming an author, he worked, among other roles, as an editor for magazines and comics, a coordinator for the Danish peace movement, a publishing executive and a board chairman. He is best known for the thriller series featuring Carl Mørck and Department Q. His other novels include *The Alphabet House*, *The Washington Decree* and *The Marco Effect* (*Takeover*). His widely acclaimed books have been translated into more than 40 languages and adapted for film and television. In 2011, he received Denmark’s Golden Laurel literary award.
