Julia Ebner, born in Vienna in 1991, is an author and researcher specialising in extremism. Her work has addressed online radicalisation, terrorism, conspiracy theories and hate speech, and she has been affiliated with the Institute for Strategic Dialogue and the University of Oxford. She has advised government and international organisations on issues related to extremism. Her book *Radikalisierungsmaschinen* received the 2020 Science Book of the Year award, became a Spiegel bestseller and appeared on the German nonfiction bestseller list. It was followed by *Massenradikalisierung*.
