Joshua Wong (born 1996) is an activist and author from Hong Kong. At the age of 14, he founded Scholarism and protested the introduction of Chinese national education in Hong Kong schools. He played a prominent role in the Umbrella Revolution and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018. Wong was arrested several times for his protest activities and spent more than 100 days in prison. His book “Unfree Speech” was his first work to be published outside Hong Kong.
