Joseph Thomas Sheridan Le Fanu

Joseph Thomas Sheridan Le Fanu (1814–1873) was an Irish writer. After studying law, he became increasingly involved in journalism and edited several newspapers. He began publishing short stories and novels in 1838. He is best known for his ghost stories and tales of horror. One of his most notable works is the novella “Carmilla,” an influential work of vampire fiction that helped inspire Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”.
