Joschka Fischer, born in 1948 in Gerabronn, is a German politician and author. A member of the Greens since 1982, he served in the German Bundestag from 1983 to 1985 and from 1994 to 2006. He held several political offices in Hesse, including Minister for the Environment and Energy from 1985 to 1987 and Deputy Minister-President and Environment Minister from 1991 to 1994. From 1998 to 2005, Fischer was Germany’s Foreign Minister and Vice Chancellor. In 2006/07, he was a visiting professor at Princeton University. His books include “Risiko Deutschland,” “Die rot-grünen Jahre,” and “Der Abstieg des Westens.”
