Jon Krakauer

Jon Krakauer, born in 1954, is an American science journalist and author. He became widely known for “Into Thin Air,” his account of climbers’ struggle to survive on Mount Everest. Other works published in German include “Into the Wild,” “Eiger Dreams,” and “Under the Banner of Heaven.” “Into the Wild” was adapted into a film by Sean Penn. Krakauer has received numerous awards for his reporting.
