John Philipp Thurn was born in 1982. He studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau and Salamanca. In 2012, he earned a doctorate from the University of Freiburg. From 2011 to 2013, he was a legal trainee at the Kammergericht in Berlin and a research assistant at the Junior Professorship of Public Law in the Faculty of Law at Humboldt University of Berlin.
