John Matthews

John Matthews (born in 1948 in England) is an author and researcher of Arthurian folklore and mythology. He published more than sixty books, including “The Grail,” “Quest for Eternal Life,” and “The Winter Solstice,” which received a Benjamin Franklin Award. He co-authored “The Arthurian Tarot” with his wife, Caitlin. He also edited Thomas Malory’s “Le Morte Darthur” and published several tarot decks. Matthews served as a guest editor of the journal “Arthuriana” and worked as a historical consultant on films including “King Arthur,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and “Prince of Persia.”
