John Goetz

John Goetz (born 1962) is a German investigative journalist, author and filmmaker. His reporting and contributions appeared in publications including the Los Angeles Times, the Sunday Times, the Guardian, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Der Spiegel. He worked as a producer for CBS’s “60 Minutes” and CBC’s “The Fifth Estate” and joined NDR as an editor for investigative reporting in 2011. His work has covered subjects including German war crimes in Afghanistan, CIA secret prisons and the Iraq War. He received the Henri Nannen Prize for his journalism. His documentaries “Snowden’s Great Escape” and “Slahi und seine Folterer” received awards from the Deutsche Fernsehakademie and, respectively, an International Emmy and the Stern Prize.
