Johannes Sachslehner, born in 1957 in Scheibbs, Austria, studied German and history at the University of Vienna, where he earned a doctorate (Dr. phil.). From 1982 to 1985, he taught German language and literature as a visiting lecturer at Jagiellonian University in Kraków. From 1989 onward, he worked as a publishing editor. Sachslehner has published numerous books on historical and cultural-historical subjects, including works on Vienna’s hidden history and biographies of Nazi perpetrators. With Robert Bouchal, he co-authored, among other books, “Lost Places in Wien und Umgebung”.
