Joan Didion

Joan Didion (1934–2021) was an American writer and journalist, born in Sacramento, California. She worked for various American publications and served, among other roles, as an editor or co-editor at Vogue. Didion published five novels as well as numerous essay collections and works of nonfiction. She received the 2005 National Book Award for The Year of Magical Thinking. Together with her husband, the writer John Gregory Dunne, she wrote several screenplays. She died in New York in December 2021.
