Joachim Mohr, born in 1962, studied contemporary history, German literature and linguistics in Tübingen, including an exchange semester in London. After completing a traineeship at the Frankfurter Rundschau, he worked as a journalist for several publications and became an editor at the news magazine DER SPIEGEL. He initially covered domestic politics before moving to the special topics and history departments. Mohr is the author, co-author and editor of several books, including the volumes Das Kaiserreich (2014), Die Weimarer Republik (2015) and Die Gründerzeit (2019), published in cooperation with SPIEGEL and DVA.
