Jean-Michel Guenassia

Jean-Michel Guenassia was born in Algiers in 1950. He worked as a lawyer for several years and wrote for television and the theatre. His late debut novel, *The Club of Incorrigible Optimists*, was published in 2009 and received the Prix Goncourt des lycéens that year. In 2010, the novel also won the readers’ prize awarded by the magazine Notre Temps.
