James Rebanks

James Rebanks, born in 1974, grew up on a farm in England’s Lake District that has been worked by his family for more than six hundred years. After studying history at Oxford, he took over the farm from his father and worked as a farmer and shepherd. His autobiographical book, published in German as »Mein Leben als Schäfer«, became an international bestseller. His second book, published in German as »Mein englisches Bauernleben«, received, among other honors, the Sunday Times Nature Book of the Year award in 2020 and the Wainwright Prize for Nature Writing in 2021.
