James P. Hogan

James P. Hogan (1941–2010) was a British science-fiction writer. He grew up in west London and published his debut novel, *Inherit the Stars*, in 1977. He became known for a scientifically and technically oriented writing style and went on to write several sequels. Hogan was often compared with his fellow British author Arthur C. Clarke.
