James Oswald began writing while studying psychology at the University of Aberdeen. His early work included comics, short stories, blog posts and fantasy fiction. His first two thrillers were nominated for the prestigious Debut Dagger Award. He became known primarily for his crime novels featuring Edinburgh detective Tony McLean, which have repeatedly appeared on British bestseller lists. The Dreamwalker series marked Oswald’s first work for young adult readers.
