Jakob Streit

Jakob Streit (1910–2009) was a Swiss author of children’s and young adult books. He published more than thirty books, including animal stories, fairy tales, legends, and retellings of biblical stories. His best-known works include Tatatuck’s Journey to the Crystal Mountain, Liputto, and Louis Braille, as well as a book about bees. Alongside his writing, Streit worked as a teacher for many years and was active in theater and opera. A keen lover of nature, he was also passionately involved in beekeeping.
