Jacques Le Goff (1924–2014) was a historian and former president of the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. His work focused particularly on the Middle Ages and contributed to social and mentalities history as well as the “Nouvelle Histoire” school. Many of his works were also published in German translation.
