Inke Arns

Inke Arns is a German curator and author whose work focuses on media art and theory, net cultures, and Eastern Europe. She began working as an independent curator and author in 1993. From 1988 to 1996, she studied Slavic studies, East European studies, political science, and art history in Berlin and Amsterdam; she had previously lived in Paris from 1982 to 1986. In 2004, she received her doctorate from Humboldt University of Berlin with a dissertation on the reception of the historical avant-garde and the concept of utopia in media-art projects of the 1980s and 1990s in former Yugoslavia and Russia. She has curated numerous exhibitions, including at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, and has published essays on media art and net culture as well as exhibition catalogues.
