Inghill Johansen made her debut in 1991 with the novel »Hjertehvitt«. She subsequently published the prose books »Suge« (1996), »Klage« (2001), »Forsvinne« (2009), »Bungalow« (2016) and »Dette er G« (2021). »Klage« was nominated for Norway’s Brage Prize, »Bungalow« for the Youth Critics’ Prize, and »Dette er G« for the Nordic Council Literature Prize. Johansen received the Tanum Women’s Grant in 2002, the Dobloug Prize in 2016 and the Amalie Skram Prize in 2019.
