Inger Christensen

Inger Christensen (1935–2009) was a Danish writer and one of the major poets of her generation. She published poetry and prose and was a member of the Danish Academy from 1978. Her work received numerous awards, including the Austrian State Prize for European Literature (1994), the City of Münster Prize for European Poetry (1995), the Grand Prix des Biennales Internationales de Poésie in Liège (1995), and the Horst Bienek Prize of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts (1998).
