Igiaba Scego

Igiaba Scego was born in Rome in 1974 and comes from a Somali family. She studied literature and education and is an author of novels and short stories. She has also written for newspapers and magazines including L’Espresso, L’Unità and Internazionale, and has edited several anthologies. Her works include Roma Negata (2014), Adua (2015), Prestami le ali (2017) and La linea del colore (2020). Migration, multiculturalism and the postcolonial examination of Italian history are central themes in her writing.
