Iana Matei

Iana Matei, born in Bucharest in 1964, studied psychology and lived in Australia for many years. After returning to Bucharest in the 1990s, she helped people affected by trauma. Romania’s child welfare authorities referred the first girl to her; she subsequently founded the Reaching Out organization and a residential home. She worked internationally to combat human trafficking.
