Hermann Theisen

Hermann Theisen (born 1964) holds a Master of Social Work degree and is a systemic counsellor and specialist in peace work. From the 1980s onward, he was involved in the peace movement and took part in nonviolent civil-disobedience actions. As a result, he was imprisoned three times in the former Mainz correctional facility. In 2001, he received the Fritz Bauer Prize from the Humanist Union. Beginning in 1995, Theisen worked in social services on a secure intensive-care ward at a state psychiatric hospital.
