Herlinde Koelbl (born 1939) is a German photographer and documentary filmmaker. Since 1976, she has developed long-term photographic projects, often supplemented by interviews and films. Her best-known books include *Jewish Portraits*, *The German Living Room*, *Traces of Power*, *Targets*, *Hair*, and *The Fascination of Science*. For *Traces of Power*, she photographed and interviewed political and business figures from 1991 to 1998. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in numerous public and private collections. Koelbl has received several honors, including the Dr. Erich Salomon Award in 2001 and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2009.
