Gerhard Polt

Gerhard Polt, born in Munich in 1942, studied Scandinavian studies in Gothenburg and Munich. He became known as a cabaret artist, actor, author and poet, performing on German and international stages from 1975 onward. His breakthrough came with the parody television series »Fast wia im richtigen Leben«, which aired from 1979 to 1988. In 2001, he received the Bavarian State Prize for Literature, also known as the Jean Paul Prize.
