Helene Wecker

Helene Wecker grew up in Libertyville, Illinois, a small town north of Chicago. She studied English and subsequently worked in marketing and advertising in Minneapolis and Seattle. She later studied creative writing at Columbia University in New York. Her debut novel, *The Golem and the Jinni*, was her first novel.
