Helene Bukowski, born in Berlin in 1993, studied at the Institute for Creative Writing and Literary Studies in Hildesheim. She initially published work in anthologies and was a co-editor of the literary magazine BELLA triste. Her debut novel, Milchzähne, was published in 2019 and was nominated for, among others, the Mara-Cassens Prize, the Rauris Literature Prize and the Kranichstein Literature Promotion Prize. The book has been translated into several languages. Her second novel, Die Kriegerin, followed in 2022.
