Helen Vreeswijk

Helen Vreeswijk (1961–2016) was a Dutch author. After completing school, she worked as a fingerprint expert for the Dutch criminal police. Alongside her professional work, she wrote reviews and background articles on children’s and young adult literature. Her experiences with juvenile victims and offenders informed her young adult thrillers, which combined fictional elements with insights from her police work. Her books received several awards. Vreeswijk died in October 2016.
