Helen Pilcher holds a doctorate in cell biology and has worked as a science journalist, presenter, and author. Before becoming a full-time author, she led the Royal Society’s Science in Society programme. She has written for publications including Nature, The Guardian, and New Scientist, and has published several books. One of her books was named Science Book of the Year by The Times in 2020.
