Heinz Georg Held

Heinz Georg Held studied comparative literature and art history in Berlin and Venice. He subsequently worked as a foreign-language lecturer and taught German literature at the University of Pavia. As a translator, he translated works by, among others, Alphonse Allais, Carlo Collodi, Roberto Longhi, Umberto Eco, Claudio Magris, and Salvatore Settis. He also published nonfiction, children’s and animal stories, poetry, and plays.
