Heike Wiechmann

Heike Wiechmann first studied art and German to become a teacher and later specialized in illustration, including at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. She worked as a toy designer, cartoonist, and drawing teacher before turning to writing and illustrating children’s books. She has written more than 30 children’s books and illustrated many others. Wiechmann grew up on the Baltic Sea and, by her own account, has been drawing since she was able to hold a pen.
