Heide Sommer

Born in 1940, Heide Sommer began her career in 1963 as a secretary in the political section of the weekly newspaper Die Zeit. In 1966, she worked as Carl Zuckmayer’s secretary in Switzerland. She later worked at Der Spiegel for Joachim Fest, Günter Gaus, and Rudolf Augstein. From 2001 to 2015, she worked for Fritz J. Raddatz, and from 2006 to 2009 also for Loki and Helmut Schmidt. Sommer is married to journalist Theo Sommer and has two sons. In 2017, she began writing the crime series Berta und Auguste.
