Hark Bohm

Hark Bohm was born in Hamburg in 1939 and spent his childhood on the island of Amrum. He worked as an actor, screenwriter, film director and producer, and taught film as a professor at the University of Hamburg. He became known for films including »Nordsee ist Mordsee« and »Yasemin«, and was a co-writer of the screenplay for »Aus dem Nichts«, which earned him a German Film Award. He also received the German Film Award’s honorary award for lifetime achievement. Bohm appeared in films by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and was a co-founder of the Filmverlag der Autoren. »Amrum«, co-written with Philipp Winkler, was his first novel.
